Done-for-You Florist Websites: A Guide from Florists
What a flower shop website needs, how long it takes and which route suits you: DIY, an agency or done-for-you. Written by florists who build nothing else.
A flower shop website that works as hard as you do
You’ve got the shop, the regulars from the neighbourhood and a good hand with bouquets. What you’re missing is a website, or you have one that gets in your way more than it helps. This guide explains what a florist website actually needs, how long it takes to launch and which of the three routes suits you. It’s written by florists who build nothing but flower shop websites, so we’ll be straight with you.
What a flower shop website needs (and what it doesn’t)

A flower shop isn’t a clothes shop with a different font. You sell perishable stock, deliver locally and make or break the year on a handful of peak days. So leave out what you don’t need: national courier integrations (you deliver locally, with your own team), generic fashion themes and features you’ll never use. Every extra module is one more thing that can break. What the site does need is built around those realities:
- A catalogue with recipes, not just photos. Customers want to know which flowers they’ll get, and you want to be able to swap a missing stem without an argument. Every product has a gallery, a description and a recipe listing the flowers in it.
- Delivery cost and timing, sorted on the spot. “How much to deliver to the next village?” isn’t a question you want to answer on WhatsApp ten times a day. The customer picks their area and sees the delivery cost straight away, with no road distances to work out. They choose the day and time slot right on the product, and you stop juggling scraps of paper.
- A short checkout: who’s sending, who’s receiving. With flowers, the person paying and the person receiving are almost always different people, and a checkout that understands this means fewer abandoned orders. Keep your phone number visible at all times, too. Half your customers will still ring, and that isn’t the website failing; it’s the nature of the trade.
Three routes: on your own, with an agency or done for you
On your own, with a website builder. It’s cheap to start, but the site gets built in your own time, in the evenings after you’ve closed the shop. And when something breaks on Valentine’s Day morning, when you’re at your busiest, you’re the “IT department” as well. It works for getting started, but rarely for a flower shop that’s growing.
- With a general agency. You get an attractive site, but it’s built by people who make a shoe shop website today and a law firm’s tomorrow. Recipes, perishable stock, holiday peaks, delivery priced by area: you have to explain all of it, and every change after launch is another invoice.
- Done for you, on a platform built only for flower shops. The site comes with everything above already in place, because the people who built it have run into these problems dozens of times. At Superflori X we go a step further: we build the site, keep managing it after launch and add the products for you. You send the photos; we do the gallery, the description and the recipe.
Why it matters that florists built it
Superflori X grew out of a working flower shop, not an IT office. That’s why our sites pass the test that really counts: the days before 8 March, when our flower shops in Romania take a month’s orders in a few days.
A few flower shops on our platform, with their real websites:
- Maua Flowers (Bacău)
- L’Atelier des Fleurs (Ploiești)
- Prăvălia Cu Flori (Botoșani)
- Zen Flowers (Bucharest)
Frequently asked questions
- How long until I’m online? Within 3 days of confirming and setting up your domain. If you already have a website or online shop, migration is free and takes 3 days with no interruption for your customers: the old site keeps working until the moment the new one goes live on your domain.
- What does it cost, and do I keep my domain? It’s a simple subscription with everything included, with no commission on your sales and no hidden costs turning up later. The only external cost is your domain. The site runs under your brand, on your domain, and the domain stays yours.
Do you need to be technical? No. We run the whole site for you, including hosting, security, updates and products, so you can stick to the bouquets. And will it cope with Valentine’s Day? That’s exactly what it’s built for: the platform has handled hundreds of orders on a single peak day without missing a beat.
